House Rules
House Rules & Guidelines
We kindly ask that you follow these house rules to ensure a great stay for you and the next guests:
No Smoking: This is a non-smoking home. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and use the outdoor ashtray for cigarette butts.
Pets: We love pets, but no pets are allowed unless pre-approved by us in advance.
No Parties or Unregistered Guests: Only the guests on the reservation are permitted to stay overnight. Feel free to have a friend visit, but no large gatherings or parties. Please keep noise at a respectful level, especially after 9:00 PM (quiet hours) to be considerate of our neighbors.
Respect & Safety: Treat the home as you would your own. Please lock all doors and windows when you leave the house. Do not share your smart lock code with anyone outside your group for security. A first aid kit is under the bathroom sink, and a fire extinguisher is under the kitchen sink for your safety (hopefully you won’t need them!).
Trash & Recycling: Please bag all garbage and place it in the large gray trash bin located [outside/at the side of the house] (labelled “Trash”).
Recycling: There is a blue bin for recyclables (plastic, glass, paper). No need to sort – just place acceptable items in the blue bin.
If you’re staying over Tuesday night, we appreciate it if you could roll the bins to the curb for Wednesday morning pickup. (If not, no worries – we’ll handle it after your stay.)
Check-Out Procedures: Check-out is at 11:00 AM on your departure day. When the time comes, please:
Tidy Up: Wash any dirty dishes or load the dishwasher and start it. Wipe up spills or crumbs, and return any moved items/furniture back to their place.
Trash: Take out the trash and recycling (as described above) so we don’t attract pests.
Linens: It helps us if you gather used towels and leave them in the bathroom hamper. You can leave beds unmade – we’ll strip and remake them.
Thermostat & Lights: If the heat or A/C was used, set the thermostat back to a moderate temperature (68°F in winter, 75°F in summer). Turn off all lights and any running appliances.
Lock Up: Make sure all windows are closed and doors are locked. Simply shut the front door and press the “Lock” button on the smart lock keypad. (It should beep or flash to confirm it’s locked.) Since it’s a keyless system, you don’t need to leave a key – your code will automatically deactivate.
Goodbye! Send us a quick message when you’ve left, just so we know everything went well. Travel safe!
Following these guidelines helps us prepare the home for the next guests. Thank you for your cooperation!
